Anything that ties a firearm to an address paves the way for confiscation. I believe that was what happened to AR'S in NYC. First register, thank you, now surrender them to the Govt. Brown Shirts.
That is why they want background on person to person transactions - it identifies the location. I bet there are as many person to prson sales/trades than there are transactions through dealers.

Jim the ATF has over 900 million gun records on file so pretty much there is already a national gun registry. Of course the ATF claims it keeps records for things like tracking down a gun used in a crime however tracking is tracking and the information can be used for confiscation !

I know, and they digitized them to. Everybody should keep some that have no paperwork tied to them.
