I picked the wrong week for this thread. Knocked off work early yesterday only to bust my rear in the afternoon and all day today. We’re getting ready to put the garden in as well as preparing for an upcoming sweet sixteen birthday party and the Kid’s graduation. Of course it’s hit the mid eighties to add insult to injury.
Oh well.
Dobie Gray has the answer.

"At My Job" by Dead Kennedys
If your machine might slip a gear
Push this button to help it clear
Your time card says that your name's Joe
But we'll call you 6-3-0
I'm working at my job
I'm so happy
More boring by the day
But they pay me
All that time spent going to school
Just to end up following rules
I'm working at my job
I'm so happy
More boring by the day
But they pay me
Now it's time to take a break
Don't stray too far or you'll be late
Thank you for your service and a long career
Glad you gave us your best years
I'm working at my job
I'm so happy
More boring by the day
But they pay me

That stretch of the river comes down through a big dairy farm, and the farmer was out planting. He had his little boy in the cab with him. I caught two of the smallies while they were passing in the field right alongside the river. They stopped to watch me land the bigger one, who had a couple impressive jumps of his own. And it was a tougher than usual fight because I was using my Ugly Stick 5-foot ultralight, after snapping the tip off my longer and slightly stiffer one, my favorite one for river fishing, last week. Anyway, I'm usually pretty humble in the outdoors, but I have to say it was satisfying to have an audience when catching a really good fish. I held the bass up before releasing it and they gave me a big double thumbs-up from the tractor cab.
All kinds of different critters out. Saw a red fox slinking along a hedgerow behind a barn at about 4pm. This early summertime weather has everything a little out of whack and ahead of schedule, it seems. We've already got wild strawberries in full blossom -- that's a good 2-3 weeks ahead of usual.
