Since the Lone Ranger was presumably (?) a recovering Texas Ranger, I would think he would carry a .45 LC. (?)
Seems I remember the reason for the mask was scarring around his eyes from an injury. Again... (?)

As for the bullet material? I dunno?
Okay! The Lone Ranger was a TV crime/drama series. Everything was "make believe" as realistic as it seemed.
Those old black and white TV's required children of the 50's to use a LOT of imagination! LOL!
HIS BULLETS WERE PURE SILVER! 🤠!
Ask any kid of the 50's!
Sterling silver isn't pure silver. It's like 90%/95% silver!
Heck! That was THE Lone Ranger! Nothing but silver bullets were good enough for him! LOL!
