Good , the last three afternoons I saw about 20 doe . Today I didn't see doe but a button buck fed on acorns most of the morning.
If I see the doe tomorrow I may fill the freezer.

Did you get everything ready at the lease?

I'm surprised by how many of your subjects this song fits! 😃

              Run boys, run..."

I had to go look, never heard of her before.

She does a good cover of Clapton’s “Layla”.

I saw her open for John Mellencamp. By the time she had done 3 songs, l had my admission price back and the rest of the night was gravy. I thought Janis had been reincarnated.

Old guys rockin again. Maybe one of the most recognized guitar riff intros of all time.

Thanks for the heads up Jim.

From an early one of theirs.

“Wild boys, wild boys, wild boys
                              Wild boys
The wild boys are calling on their way back from the fire”

We've got all fields planted and will be filling the feeders on Saturday. Our archery season opened on Oct. 15 and gun season will open on Nov. 19 with a 5 day primitive weapons just before.

One of the two brothers who run the club got pissed when I questioned keeping 40 feeders going and the club opted for half that. We share stands a member puts up so in retaliation he pulled all of his pop-ups and ladders. What a 69 year old baby and old fool. Oh well, his loss.

I didn't hunt this weekend but went into the public land swamp last Sunday afternoon. It's almost a two hour drive, then 30 minutes of paddling. I wanted to hunt at a slightly submerged beaver dam pigs use to cross between two fingers of land. Well, getting out of the canoe I slipped and went into the water, swamping the boat in the process. That's the first time it's happened and I'd gotten complacent, not bringing a change of clothes.

So, I pulled everything onto land and used the bow rope to run a clothes line, using clip-on reflectors for clothespins. Fortunately my head hadn't gone underwater and my hat was still dry, and I had a pair of boots in the dry bag. I stripped and hung the clothes to dry in the sun and breeze, just in hat and boots with no socks. The temp was in the mid 60's so there was no danger of cold but there were mosquitos and I'd forgotten repellant.

The pop-up blind needed to dry so I set it up and and climbed inside with my crossbow, and sat on a small cooler, boys dangling off the edge. Fortunately, the dry case had kept my wallet and cell phone protected. The blind warmed in the sun and being inside kept most of the mosquitos away. For a couple of hours I read a book on the cell and watched out for pigs while my clothes dried.

Once I got dressed, everything was packed back into the canoe and I decided to stalk hunt an overgrown logging road along that finger. The pig sign was scarce but I did get within bow range of a very small deer, probably a yearling buck. I let it walk - and the mosquitos were getting very bad as the temp rose. Lots of spider webs too. It was time to paddle to the landing and go home. Good times, good times...

I have heard the differential diagnosis is based on the mild temp increase up to about 101, not higher.
My normal temp is 97, so the 101 rule won't...

What is your preference for Turkeys ? I was at a home that cooked both and I have to say the wild turkey was very good. No white meat and very moist...

If anyone is a true outdoors "person", any Peter Hathaway Capstick book is a grand read and anything by Gene Hill is good.
                                  I'm sure there...
