  • TGIF; 15 minutes of fame

Every week we have a number of go to artists and bands we link to, nothing wrong with that but what makes these threads really interesting are the forgotten and unknown tunes that pop up.

Lets hear stuff from one hit wonders, YouTube stars and others that teetered on greatness but for whatever reason never became all time greats, or at least were behind the scenes.

First up, the most famous phone number in history.

Followed by quite possibly her twin sister.

I was in Junior High when I went to my first school dance. I have no idea who the band was but they knocked this out as good as it played on the radio at the time.

I was in 5’th grade when this came out. Had it on a 45 and listened to it enough I could lip sync it perfectly.

Have this on cassette, nearly worn out from the car stereo.

I remember her hit and then she just kind of drifted away. I understand she is still playing jazz piano and doing quite well.

              Terry Gibbs - "Somebody's Knockin'"

One of my favorites ... but I can't successfully sing it. The high notes are beyond me

I remember dancing to this one on a lighted floor. Ah, those were the days! In 1979, I took disco dancing for P.E. credit at U.A.B. and made an "A". Homework was very fun!

Here's to Roxy, Dianne, and Laurie... I hope they too have fond memories

May 1980, one of my buddies was home on leave from the Nimitz and he had a pocket full of cash. We went to "Sammy's", a local strip club, and spent every dime we had with us! I think of that night every time I hear this song - it was popular with the pole dancers!

                        Dimes in a strip joint?

                        Sounds complicated.

I’ve probably heard this song 1000 times, never have seen the video before now.
