  • TGIF; The Gun Edition

I’ll kick it off with this but don’t want to steal anything that someone else was thinking of posting. Let’s see what you’ve come up with.

Probably hear some more Skynard before this is over.

      Oh man!
How can Marty Robbins not be "numerous uno"? LOL!

A little Bruce Springsteen with Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine. Bobby's got a gun underneath his pillow .....

                Another Marty Robbins classic

                "Mr. Shorty"

                https://youtu.be/6x6o_tBU8DU

If Marty Robbins was "before your time", he was famous for his "Gun Fighter Ballads", but they weren't his "break out" songs.
                This was:

                "Singing the Blues"

This is Robbins "signature song" and he won a Grammy for it.

                    Marty Robbins - El Paso

                    https://youtu.be/7UVVS5-9HvA

As wildly famous as it is, "El Paso" was never one of my favorite Marty Robbins songs.
I think it's because of the "romanticism" of the song.
El Paso, Texas wasn't then nor is it now, a "romantic" city! 😃!
El Paso is a border cess pool with a neighbor across the river (Cuidad Juarez) of over a million impoverished people.
