I wonder how it would play out if he did start a third party. I wouldn't be a member of it but it could be good for the country, a third party that actually has supporters enough to matter come election time.

From #1 Bubba: "Why would you "impeach" a private citizen?"
I think fitch nailed it. Spite, pure and simple. Like the idiot brits dug up cromwell three years after his death, and beheaded the corpse. The left wingnuts hate and fear Trump so much, they want to utterly destroy him, his legacy, and even his family. They also fear what he may be able to expose, such as kickbacks from "foreign aid", bribery scandals, payoffs, and other treasonous activities in the halls of Congress, on both sides of the aisle.
Remember the quote attributed to hitlery right before the 2016 election?
"If that m-----f----- gets in, we will all swing from ropes!"

I do have a question though!
Why would you "impeach" a private citizen?
A more interesting question might be is an incoming president impeachable during the lame duck period? If he/she commits acts of treason or sedition or "other high crimes and misdemeanors" shouldn't he/she have to answer for it ... even if not yet officially in office? Clearly, such a person would no longer be fit for that office. Should we have to wait four years for the voters to throw him/her out? Or should our elected officials have the responsibility to step in and expedite? I think so and I'm sure the Supreme Court would agree that was the legislative intent of the Constitution's impeachment clause. Hopefully we'll never see that scenario. But it wouldn't surprise me ... if Trump tries to run again. He's just that stupid, careless, and arrogant.Last edited by Ontario Honker Hunter; 01-26-2021, 04:27 PM.

From honk the phony, another political illiterate: "A president who breaks the law during the lame duck period must be as accountable as one aso does it at the start of his term. He is still president.....blather, blather, blather, ad nauseum."
So what law did Trump break, Oh severely deranged and Ignorant One? It has already been proven that Trump did not incite a riot, nor were the people who assaulted the chamber even Trump supporters. He most assuredly committed neither bribery nor treason, so that leaves high crimes and misdemeanors. Is it now a high crime to address a crowd and call for a peaceful protest, or, does that fall under misdemeanors in your world of TDS?
QED*, if Trump cannot be convicted in the Senate on the one feeble article of impeachment the demoncrat house has brought before the Senate, he could not have been responsible for "irresponsible and deliberately malevolent actions [that] resulted in the deaths of five people. It could have been MUCH worse. I am surprised............"
We are all sure you are surprised, honk the phony. According to your perverted and twisted logic, Trump is evil incarnate. You really should get some help for that Trump Derangement Syndrome, as he is now out of office, and not in a position to either give you nightmares, or make you wet your panties anymore.
*QED-quod erat demonstrandum, or, the facts speak for themselves. Just in case you are as unlettered in Latin as you are in history, politics, the Constitution, Browning shotguns, etc. The list is too long to post fully.Last edited by crm3006; 01-26-2021, 04:39 PM.

From honk the phony: "What the ... How is the President of the United States just "ANY Citizen"?"
NEWS FLASH- Earth to honk the phony! The election is over, bite-me and friends cheated and won the White House, Trump is no longer your President. (Never was, I forget you bow before trudeau.) Trump is now just a private citizen. He can't make you foam at the mouth and wet your panties anymore. Orange man bad? Orange man Gone!

Trump may escape justice in the impeachment trial by virtue of a vote shortage with the Republicans, but the public will be aware of his guilt by virtue of the television coverage of the trial.
Like with OJ Simpson.
P.S. The FBI has no standing to announce his innocence. That is a finding of fact by the jury.

Impeaching a govt official who is no longer in office is not something new. The precedent dates to 19th century when a former cabinet member (Secty of War?) was impeached after he was out of office. Trump was not impeached when he was just "any citizen." He was impeached when he was still president. The Republican leader of Senate simply refused to start the trial part while Trump was still president. But that doesn't stop the process. McConnell knew that. He just washed his hands in disgust and handed the hot potato to someone else. It was the ethical thing for him to do ... for a change. His party had just been voted in the minority (thanks to Trump). Robbing the Democrats of the right to preside over the trial would not have looked good. Shutting down witnesses in the last impeachment trial was borderline unethical. McConnell has had enough of that shady business. Obviously he had enough of Trumpism too ... as evidenced by his wife's fast exit from cabinet. I think if the Republicans in the Senate don't throw the Democrats this well deserved bone and convict Trump, the resentment and division in govt will only deepen. The GOP needs to make a clean break from Trumpism trash politics ... or any future rebranding of that destructive crap. They need to clean up their act ... and most of the GOP senators worth breathing oxygen have figured that out (someone should send Ted Cruz a ventilator!). Put out the trash ... THEN move on. It's been stinking up D.C. long enough.Last edited by Ontario Honker Hunter; 01-27-2021, 12:03 AM.

I see the Canadian company that made the electronic voting machines has just filed billion dollar law suit against Rudy G for his malicious lies about the machines being rigged. Unfortunately for him he was acting as Trump's personal lawyer when he shot his mouth off. Because he was not in an official capacity during the administration, he is not protected from liability. Next in line for a piece of the action will be the families of those who died in the riot. What a schmuck. Two years from now he'll be begging for change in the subway station. Only Trump would be dumb enough to pick someone that stupid to be his mouthpiece. I also see several prominent NY law firms have petitioned the state's bar association to terminate Rudy's license to practice. Gee, I wonder why?Last edited by Ontario Honker Hunter; 01-27-2021, 12:21 AM.

From honk the phony: "I see the Canadian company that made the electronic voting machines has just filed billion dollar law suit against Rudy G for his malicious lies about the machines being rigged. Unfortunately for him he was acting as Trump's......blather, blather..."
I see you are just as ignorant of the law, as you are of almost everything else, honk the phony. When and if such a lawsuit ever comes to trial, it will be in front of a jury, and there will be a pre-trial process, called discovery. As part of this discovery process, a certain number of these Canajan voting machines will be subject to a forensic examination. When that forensic examination takes place, on of two things will be revealed:
1. The machines are vulnerable to hacking, and programmed to give a slanted vote count to a certain candidate, or are pre-programmed with a decided numerical advantage to a certain candidate.
2. The machines have been totally wiped clean of any data or programming, which is a felony under any state's voting records retention laws. Time of retention varies.
So, honk the phony, legal illiterate, I think ol' Rudy has a fairly decent chance of beating that suit in court, or having it dismissed for lack for evidence. Which would then put that Canajan company at risk for a defamation suit, and possibly in legal jeopardy for furnishing rigged voting machines, or tampering with evidence. Time will tell.
honk the phony, you really should learn how to spell. It behooves a man of your muchly bragged about education and accomplishments to correctly spell out his incoherent rants.

This is all spelled in Sidney Powel report and I believe in Rudy's. I am going by memory so I may be off on some things.
In addition I believe in Sidneys report she documents the raid on the server location in Germany by U.S. Rangers and the server is in the hands of the CIA. The machines were on the internet during counting and controlled by the server. I hope my recollection is accurate,
I hope we get to examine all the evidence in a Court as I suspect the counting machine has been altered and cleaned.

jhjimbo-If they persist in a lawsuit, all that will come out in discovery. All the expert analysis, all the testimony from every computer expert and every expert in how the machines operate, and can be programmed. Plus the history of the invention and development, going back to the Venezuelan dictator who paid to have it developed.
That is why I can't understand why they would even bring suit, unless they think they can buy either a judge, or rig a jury.
