We're at about 11 million cases, that's about 11 million more than we'd of had if we took this thing seriously from the beginning. Out of those a quarter million deaths and maybe 700,000 long haulers needing ongoing medical care. That's a pretty serious hit to the economy. And it's not over yet. I'd rate it a bigger mistake than Iraq.
Countries which are composed mainly of their own nationals, are faring much better than America which has a huge difference in population diversity ! All countries are struggling with attempts to control this virus, America can not be pointed at directly, and especially when it’s huge difference of cultures, racial makeups, and very importantly, non-national loyalty is accounted for. The people can not be made or forced into doing what is thought best for them !!

I certainly agree with you bowhunter about the lack of national loyalty. People should take pride in and consider themselves Americans before anything else.

Aren't you in Germany now? Europe has also had a bad time of it, their numbers are just coming down to ours now.

The EU is comprised of over 20 countries and all are now highly affected by this second wave, this being after strict personal and business regulations were ended in early fall. Germany is again on a strong increase in infection numbers and is instilling lockdowns and experiencing demonstrations as a result. France is very hard hit, over 50,000 cases a day, and this in a country of under 70 million. Being still in Germany, we are seeing about 17,000 a day. With America’s high population, and of course huge non-nationals, our figures will of course run much higher than other countries, but with that said, no country seems to he handling this issue well. Even the nordic countries are struggling, some of which did not adhere to regulations. Our ‘good friends’,the chinco communists sure screwed over the world on this, and thus far appear to be off the hook by world attitude. What a terrible regime to be in bed with !!!!!!!

China beat the coronavirus with science and strong public health measures.

          https://news.yahoo.com/china-beat-co...132000845.html

Barely less than a year ago, the novel coronavirus emerged in Wuhan, China, with 80,000 cases identified within three months, killing 3,000 people.

In late January 2020, the Chinese government decided to lock down this city of 11 million people. All transportation to and from the city was stopped. Officials further locked down several other cities in Hubei Province, eventually quarantining over 50 million people.

By the beginning of April, the Chinese government limited the spread of the virus to the point where they felt comfortable opening up Wuhan once again.

Seven months later, China has confirmed 9,100 additional cases and recorded 1,407 more deaths due to the coronavirus. People in China travel, eat in restaurants and go into theaters, and kids go to school without much concern for their health. Juxtapose that to what we are experiencing in the U.S. To date, we have confirmed over 11 million cases, with the last 1 million recorded in just the last one week alone.

Thanks for the Yahoo News Update. I wonder how much the chicoms pay Yahoo News for their propaganda every year.

I finally have a couple of people I know who have the China bat flu. Venango County is up to 8 deaths. About one a month on average.

We've gained a little understanding, but the virus is acting basically the same as it did in Wuhan almost a year ago. Because the Chinese live under an authoritarian government, and because they have a lot of national pride and feel a sense of group responsibility, they were able to impose far stricter shutdown rules much faster and marshal far greater resources.

Remember the 2,000 bed hospital in a week? And over 3,000 doctor and nurse volunteers flown in with their own equipment?

Listen to this old red faced Irishman who has fought many viral epidemics, it only takes 1 minute, and he has seen more epidemics of people dropping like flies than any of us could imagine in our dreams. His Irish accent helps.
