  • I paid more taxes than Trump in 16 and 17

    Both years he paid $750

And of the 15 years before that he paid no taxes in 10 of those years.

He works as hard at tax avoidance and claiming losses as he does at business, and it all looks to be coming to a head. He could lose his place in Florida, or maybe that's why he changed his address to there, use it as his principal residence and fight to keep it.

He's fighting right now with the IRS over a $72 million refund he got. Losing in court could cost a lot more than that.

The stipend the gov gives retired Presidents is probably going to turn out to be a godsend.

To summarize,,,Trump got a bunch of $ from his daddy. He lost it all, but then he got paid hundreds of millions to play a billionaire on TV. He tried to use that $ to become a real billionaire, but he lost it all again. Now he's starting over, but we're his daddy.

    That was from Jason Kander.

Most of Mr. Trump’s core enterprises — from his constellation of golf courses to his conservative-magnet hotel in Washington — report losing millions, if not tens of millions, of dollars year after year.

His revenue from “The Apprentice” and from licensing deals is drying up, and several years ago he sold nearly all the stocks that now might have helped him plug holes in his struggling properties.

      The tax audit looms.

And within the next four years, more than $300 million in loans — obligations for which he is personally responsible — will come due.https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...ump-taxes.html

It's a fun read, and more is coming out every day.

If you amass losses, you to can take deductions from your taxes and sometimes pay none. That's the tax code.

I read that one of his tax write-offs was $70,000 for hair styling.

The details of the tax filings complicate Trump’s description of himself as a shrewd businessman, revealing instead a series of financial losses and income from abroad that could come into conflict with his responsibilities as president.

He has even lost on his hotels despite tons of legal bribes over the past 3 years. What you say? Simply book a few suites in perpetuity, lots of countries and businesses do it. Russian oligarch paid him 6 million for miss universe contest that only cost 2 to put on, NBC and Trump split the remainder.

All this is amusing. But the bigger point is that the upper middle, who are mostly Democrats, have allowed wages to fall off a cliff by exporting manufacturing and importing cheap mostly illegal labor. Trump is a low life shyster, but for many it's only incidental, myself included.

Many of Trump's supporters don't mind that he is a common crook as long as they derive some benefit from it, directly or indirectly.

Very true. The problem is that the losses have to be legit, and if the audit proves they aren't, well he owes $100 million for the refund he took from back when he did pay taxes. Also his income has cratered. The brand is no longer popular, very little revenue from his TV thing, and hotels are all failing, golf courses were always his biggest money loser, and they too are still losing. Besides that he has $300 million in personal loans coming due over the next 3 years, how will he pay them? He has very little in liquid assets. Sold all his stock except 1 million.

Trump has made large amounts of money twice. Once when he inherited, and from his TV show The Apprentice that he got half the profits of. Both those things are gone.

#1 Bubba, the slimy nine's "Just more horse apples!" site is yahoo. From what little I could stomach perusing their articles, yahoo is run by a bunch of left wing-nut yahoos. But, the bandicoot believes every word, and quotes the yahoos at yahoo in a disgusting number of posts. I don't think he ever has seen another source.

Are you guys saying it's possible the story is false, and that Trump's tax information is still hidden from sight?

The Drudge Report believes it, and even calls Donald a fake billionaire.

When Trump cried "fake news," I was so tired of hearing that, I didn't believe anyone would take it seriously as a denial of the facts.
But I suppose he has quite a few supporters who can truthfully say, "I believe Donald Trump is telling the truth."
A number of them are on this form, and they call the nevertrumpers stupid for not believing a word he says.
