  • Asian Murder Hornet.

As if we didn't have enough on our hands with the COVID-19 disease, we now have to deal with an invasive species of hornet in our Pacific northwest that could wipe out our domestic honeybee populations in a few years.

Now some are down playing the seriousness of the hornet. I don't understand - it kills our bees and it's sting is very toxic and kills about 50 people each year. What do we believe?
Fauci told Trump the virus was nothing to worry about and it would never come here. So much for expert advice. Lets not get behind the eight ball on the hornet.

    I would guess a 1 3/4" 12ga with #9 shot would bust up a swarm pretty good.

AP story by Seth Borenstein with quotes from entemologists and rangers who know. I don't know how to make a link, but I'm sure you'll find it.

Jimbo - Here is the straight scoop on Dr, Fauci's assessment of the COVID-19 situation.
At no time did he say that the virus would never come here.

I heard that if you wrap those hornets in a jalapeno and wrap them in bacon, then grill over mesquite coals, they taste like chicken, and are better than fried grasshoppers. (Remove the stingers first, and rinse with cold running water.)

Yeah, apparently, catching and cooking the murder hornets is quite the experience overseas. Lots of ways to eat them apparently. In fact, some places put them in the souchou whole or just the venom to give it a little extra kick.

Chances are slim, but hey, maybe we'll get lucky and the killer bees and the Murder Hornets will take each other out... yeah, and maybe I'm a Chinese jet pilot.

Apparently, these invasive critters are not the threat they initially were thought to be.
