  • Robert B. Parker, the guy who wrote the Spenser detective novels, had Spenser saying in one book, "After the stores close, any beer in the fridge is good beer."

I read in Stephen King's memoir "On Writing" that during his drugging-and-drinking days, he would kill off a CASE of tallboys every single night while he wrote. Crazy. He said that on the rare nights when he didn't drink all the beer he had before going to bed, he would dump the remaining ones down the sink. If he left them in the fridge, he wouldn't fall asleep until he got up and drank them. That ain't a monkey on your back, it's freakin' King Kong.

About the Capitol riot on January 6, Boehner wrote Trump "incited that bloody insurrection for nothing more than selfish reasons, perpetuated by the bullshit he'd been shoveling since he lost a fair election the previous November."

And I think it is a good idea because the present name of the park is "Mosquito Lake State Park."

We’re ... in the middle of this slow sink,” he explained on “Face the Nation” on CBS. “We have a band playing on the deck telling everybody it’s fine. And, meanwhile, Donald Trump’s running around trying to find women’s clothing and get on the first lifeboat.

                      https://www.yahoo.com/news/liz-chene...003418970.html

“I am a conservative Republican and the most conservative of conservative principles is reverence for the rule of law. The Electoral College has voted,” Cheney said. “More than 60 state and federal courts, including multiple judges the former president appointed, have rejected his claims. The Trump Department of Justice investigated the former president’s claims of widespread fraud and found no evidence to support them.”

“Those who refuse to accept the rulings of our courts are at war with the Constitution,” Cheney said, adding, “Remaining silent and ignoring the lie emboldens the liar. I will not participate in that. I will not sit back and watch in silence while others lead our party down a path that abandons the rule of law and joins the former president’s crusade to undermine our democracy.”

                      • Too bad that we can't rule out that the Democrats cheat. Zuckerburg spent $400 million dollars to circumvent the election and he was not alone. The Constitution has never before had a fight like this. Big Tech, the elitist media and hordes of dishonest lawyers came together to try to rid the country of Orange Man Bad. HR #1 and S#1 are the attempt to lock in the disreputable, illegal, unconstitutional cheating that was successful in 2020. Hopefully the Democrats, like Biden, will fail.

Politics has become a total money issue. The ‘dark money’ that was spent on the biden election was in the hundreds of millions of dollars ! The dimwits are now even being grossly supported by non American citizenry with $135,000,000 being furnished by a Swiss person. Soros has taken over dimwit AG’s. It is no longer a matter of who is better for the country, but rather who can out spend who in campaign monies ! That is a terrible way to determine a leader of the free world !!

                            • Money in politics is a Republican issue, remember Citizens United? Free speech man!. So make campaign contributions illegal. Most contributors of even small amounts are liberal Dems, and only a very small number of Dems contribute anything to anyone.

So what about Liz Cheney? Any close observer or US Politics knows Biden won, Republican Senators are not stupid, but they do want to not get primaried. Lie and keep your position or tell the truth and maybe lose.

                              • How many millions of dollars in bribes do you think it would take to bribe a few vote counters in Philly and Pittsburgh? How much would it cost to keep Republicans poll watchers away from the vote counters? $400 million is a lot of influence. If you got caught a couple of million tax free would make jail tolerable for a lot of inner city people.
