  • Socialism Comes to Republicans

The expression Nixon goes to China is shorthand for Republicans being able to move left on issues that Democrats dare not. It appears the stimulus package that the senate is preparing before leaving town forever is quite a heaping pile of socialism. 500 Billion to the populace works out to be what? $1500 per person?

They're arguing about how to cut it up, how much per family or per head or per child or what. Pelosi and a portion of the Democratic left wants it means tested, which sounds nutty to me. They'll have carve out special compensation based on intersectionality next. (look up the word if you don't know it). Also how much per industry and what to ask for in return. Most of the negotiating is amongst Republicans as they hold the levers of power. Democrats can't vote against giving people money so it's up to the Republicans to decide who, where, how much, etc.

And then there's the govt owning the means of production. Ooops, didn't mean to phrase it as Karl would have it. Karl Marx. Here's a quote from ol Karl, "The last capitalist we hang shall be the one who sold us the rope." Gotta love it. So which industries to nationalize, I mean buy a part of, I mean choose winners and losers. Do we just give them the money? Oh, here, have a few hundred billion. Negotiations on going.

And what if they end up giving citizens little and big corporations a ton? Windfall tax breaks to airlines went 98% into buy backs of stock. Big bonus for shareholders, did nothing for our economy, all gone now with the crash. Any CEO in any industry is going to look real bad compared to regular folks. How do you bail out a company for billions and pay the CEO at least seven figures while taxpayers are losing their houses and life's savings?

The Republican Party is becoming the party of the working class, there are bound to be growing pains.

OOps, Democrats not to be out bid.

From the House Financial Services Committee (Maxine Waters Chairperson lol)
2K per month per adult, 1K per child until the end of the covid recession. (nothing for millionaires and billionaires)

All personal loans suspended, credit card, car loans, mortgages, student loans.

Reimburse banks for lost revenue due to loan suspensions

No negative credit rating because of crisis

      5 billion for homeless

      stop all evictions, repossessions, etc

      Sounds good to me

It wasn't "commie" to you when Barry was handing out cash. Why is it "commie" when Trump does it?
            Because it's Trump?

              Now McConnell has gone commie!

Bubba you forgot to say "boom"!!?? Obama's cash was to the big banks and GM, it's not socialism when it's to big corporations. Privatize profits, socialize risk, it's the GOP mantra, as common as "namaste" in Boulder. Reduced payroll tax 3% or something for a couple years, no one notices like a big ol check from uncle Donald.

"McConnell plan: Direct payments of $1,200 per person, $2,400 per couple amid virus outbreak."

that from a tweet from Saagar Enjeti who does that populist program Rising with Crystal Ball, he even says "boom" at the end, must be a conservative kind of thing as Saagar claims to be some kind of libertarian.

You wanted a commie Govt and socialized medicine and you're still bitchin'?
Do you have any idea WHAT you want?
                Maybe a little more panic?
Go back and visit your little Asian friends. You seem to like it over there.

Sorry, had a bad week. But I have to ask you, Rock rat, whatinthebluefuck is your main motivation in stirring this crap up? Is it possible for you, OHH, 99 and on the other side, the whole passel of right-wing cranks to give it up for just a few freaking weeks while this gets sorted out? Do you think you're going to change anyone's mind on this site? Do you envision hordes of non-posting fence-sitters that you're going to convert to what you believe? Are you a high-school debate champ wanting to relive your glory days?

Or are you just a frustrated, smarter-than-average shitstirrer?

I shouldn't even sort you out singularly, as this has become the political and social norm, but MEIN GOTT! What has this to do with FIELDANDFUCKINGSTREAM?

Yeah, I know, Amflyer is off his meds again. But why is it so impossible for us to drop the political casting for every...damn...thing?

My comments are posted for the benefit of the hundreds if not thousands of visitors to this forum, and not in the hopes of changing minds of the usual thick-as-mud regulars who agree with Trump's next comment before he makes it.

Flyer this is called "Other". Actually we are going through an avoidable health crisis that is causing an economic meltdown, and mostly it's due to our idiot in chief. If you don't like it, don't read, but obviously you do find it interesting and you do read.

I've got a secret solution for you, block me, and block Blubber as he reposts a lot of my stuff in it's entirety though I've no idea why. I blocked a troll, life has been better for me.

Making home made masks for the nurses this eve. What are you doing? Oh, paying taxes so your party can go all socialist on you. he he he.
