  • Lacking a coherent defense, the Trump machine is still on offense, moving to censure Chairman Adam Schiff for his tasteless opening parody of the Trump telephone call.

    • It's time for A. Schiff (D-CA) to pay his tab and just go home.
The (D)'s should be so ashamed of Schiff's illicit activities, they should happily "censure" him!

        • I think Acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney could now be called as a witness for the prosecution.

            • The first line is probably true, but I don't believe anyone would qualify it with the last three words.

                • There are people testifying daily. Basically anyone who isn't part of the inner circle is rushing to get on record. Former sec of defence Mattis, forme sec of state, National Security, all kinds of career state dept officials. Polling is now at greater than 50%. The crucial Republican demographic is at least 30% of the change though total number of Republicans supporting impeach inquiry is still very small, at a guess less than 15%. The number of Giuliani associates arrested is now up to four. All unsavory seeming folks. Tons of cash being paid to all kinds of people including Guliani. The press is interested only as long as it keeps eyeballs on the screen. I don't think the issue will go away with a hurricane or celebrity scandal.

It's damaging, wether it's enough to cause electoral loss, I don't know, Dems are doing their level best to be scary extreme or incompetent and blundering (Biden).

                  I'm going hunting.

                    • The Democrats are moving slowly so as not to appear rushing to judgment, but the flood of witnesses is overwhelming.

                      • Small impeachment rallies are springing up around the country.

Pelosi has now embraced impeachment, and just two weeks ago declared that Trump’s actions were “an assault on the Constitution.”
If that’s true, then the Constitution is in need of defending. And it would be extremely foolish to believe that Republican senators and Federalist Society judges are going to come riding out of the woods in order to do the job. Small impeachment rallies have broken out recently in American cities, and that’s great to see, but they’ve been modest in size compared to the demonstrations of 2017, lacked support from major political figures, and crucially have played no role in the official political strategy of the people running the impeachment process.

If Democrats are serious about the threat they say Trump poses, they need to encourage its return.

                          • Breitbart News reported:

Itinerary for a trip to Ukraine in August organized by the Atlantic Council think tank reveals that a staffer on Rep. Adam Schiff’s House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence held a meeting during the trip with acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor, now a key witness for Democrats pursuing impeachment.

The Atlantic Council is funded by and works in partnership with Burisma, the natural gas company at the center of allegations regarding Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

Taylor has been called by House Democrats to appear next week to provide a deposition as part of the investigation being led by Schiff into President Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Taylor himself has evidenced a close relationship with the Burisma-funded Atlantic Council, writing analysis pieces published on the Council’s website and serving as a featured speaker for the organization’s events. He also served for nine years as senior advisor to the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, which has co-hosted scores of events with the Atlantic Council.

As Breitbart News reported, Thomas Eager, a staffer on Schiff’s House Intelligence Committee, took a trip to Ukraine in August billed as a bipartisan “Ukraine Study Trip” in which ten Congressional staffers participated.

House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff got caught lying about his early contact with the whistleblower.

Recall, during a September 17 MSNBC appearance, Adam Schiff said, “We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower. We would like to.”

The New York Times then dropped a bombshell and revealed that Schiff’s staffers were aware of the whistleblower’s allegations against Trump before he filed a complaint — the staffers then relayed the information to Schiff.

Bill Taylor has emerged as Schiff’s star witness. Schiff selectively leaked one of Taylor’s text messages to make it look like Trump engaged in quid pro quo to force Ukraine into investigating the Biden crime family.

A couple weeks ago, the media ran screaming headlines crucifying Trump over encrypted text messages between US Ambassadors showing a quid pro quo ‘dispute’ over Trump’s dealings with Ukraine.

The Democrats and their stenographers in the media focused on a ‘smoking gun’ text message sent from Bill Taylor — but within 24 hours it all blew up in their faces.

The text messages show US Ambassador to the EU defending Trump and making it clear there was no quid pro quo in the President’s communications with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

But the text message that the Democrats and the media hyped up was sent from Bill Taylor.

“As I said on the phone, I think it’s crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign,” Taylor said in a September 9 text exchange.

What the Democrats and their media sycophants failed to report is that the September 9 text message from Bill Taylor was in reference to an August 28 Politico article, NOT because he had any independent information.

It’s all a scam. It was all a set up. Schiff’s staffer met with Bill Taylor shortly after the whistleblower filed his complaint and Adam Schiff is spearheading his impeachment scam by selectively leaking info from secret hearings.

Don Jr. blasted Adam Schiff on Thursday in response to the latest scam.

                              • pighunter, I get your point. (snicker, snort, chortle!) Can we let the man rest in peace now?

cd2, had to go to Norman this morning. Listened to Limbaugh on the way home.
The man makes sense if you think about it.
The (D)'s tried to nullify Trumps win, first with the 25th Amendment.
Remember the story about Rosenstein wearing a wire during a meeting with Trump to prove the man was "unfit-for-office"?
                                Didn't work.
For 2 years, the Mueller team investigated Trump to a fair-the-well. Came up with nothing and they couldn't scare Trump into resigning.
How many times did Schiff say, on national TV, that he had "hard evidence" Trump was guilty.
Hmmm...? Nobody ever saw it, Schiff never produced it! WTH?
Mueller wouldn't/couldn't produce sufficient (any?) evidence of wrongdoing by Trump.
                                Couldn't scare Trump into resigning!
Nadler jumped on the "impeachment" bandwagon!
STILL no evidence and STILL cant scare Trump into resigning!
                                Well, shucky darn!
                                Trump calls Ukraine prez!
Schiff jumps with all four feet!
"GOTCHA" moment that turns into just anothe liberal nothing burger!
IF Pelosi calls an impeachment vote to the floor and it passes, due process means (R)'s get to issue subpoenas and question witnesses.
Pelosi and Schiff CANNOT allow that to happen. The American public would figure out in a heartbeat and let the cat out of the bag.
That's why Schiff is holding hearings behind closed doors and refusing to release any transcripts.
Making it all public would reveal what a farce impeachment is.
"Impeachment" will eventually fade away, but not until the election is over.

This farce isn't about impeaching Trump. It's about scaring Trump into resigning from office.
If Nixon had stuck by his guns, the (D)'s would not have been able to impeach him.

The (D)'s aren't going to do anything that will allow this to go to the (R) held Senate or allow the (R)'s to gain a foothold.
The only reason Pelosi will allow it to go to the Senate is if the (D)'s flip the Senate in 2020, which isn't likely to happen.
