A simple majority of the House vote is all it takes to bring the impeachment trial to the Senate, where a 2/3 supermajority vote is required to remove the president from office.
Bill Clinton was impeached, but acquitted in the Senate.

I would like to add that Clinton's impeachment trial was one of the most enjoyable television spectacles in history, as each of the floor managers, especially Lindsey Graham, took turns bashing Clinton for his various misdeeds, saying at one point, "Where I come from, when somebody calls you at 2:30 in the morning, you know they're up to no damned good."

Ninety nine point nine percent of searchers never look beyond the first page!
Now, liberal "snake oil" salesmen are peddling their "socialist" wares to the mentally blind, unsuspecting, freebie loving throngs in liberal bastions! (East coast and West coast!)
People are leaving Twitter and FB and going to alternative sites.

On the contrary, Jim, my point was that most religious adherents are peaceful despite their religion not being so.

An interesting view on how markets (i.e. simple human freedom) produces peaceful people.

Muslims serving in any public elected office is illegal, and much more simple than the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act (Pub.L. 82–414, 66 Stat. 163, enacted June 27, 1952), also known as the McCarran–Walter Act, which applies to aliens and immigration. I do not rely on internet warriors for my information, HF.
Any elected official of the United States, must swear an oath, usually at a mass swearing in ceremony, which has been in place since 1966.
"The oath used today has not changed since 1966 and is prescribed in Title 5, Section 3331 of the United States Code. It reads: “I, ______, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” In contrast to the presidential oath, where it’s used only by tradition, the phrase “so help me God” has been part of the official oath of office for non-presidential offices since 1862.
They are also required to sign a written copy of this oath, since the 80th Congress (1947–1949), which is held by the Clerk of the House.
Muslims do not honor an oath sworn to the Christian God, and it is inherent in their religion that it is no sin to lie to infidels to gain their ends. Nor do they consider this binding on them, as they adhere to sharia law, not the laws which are in our Constitution.
Therefore, they are illegal from Day 1, for swearing a false statement. Examples of this are abundant, such as the mass shooting at Ft. Hood, committed by a muslim, several fragging incidents in Iraq, committed by muslims, and more.
So there you have it, hemorrhoid on the buttocks of society.

If any type of oath does outlaw indirectly Muslims from serving in office then it would be unconstitutional (do you know what religious test means?) If it is a requirement that someone have a religious obligation to honor an oath you take then any atheist or agnostic is barred from office because they have no obligation to "honor an oath sworn to the Christian God." Nobody said it was the Christian God anyway.
Also, if you've ever read the Bible then you would know Jesus said to never take an oath even by the hair of your head let alone God so.......

Basically, the law says you have to take an oath. It didn't say anything about pre-existing moral obligations to follow that oath and doesn't mention some analysis of whether or not that person may be more predisposed to violate it. Even saying you won't honor the oath if you don't feel like it doesn't not appear to be grounds for removal.

Once again CRM, you apparently discovered your opinion after picking your ass.

CRM, I am surprised you still read the BS from that loser. I dismiss notifications from that goof ball, it has lowered my blood pressure to livable figures, and I no longer take to kicking the dog thinking it to be him, dog is much happier too, lol ! I like how you get in his face, but it is a lossing fight !!

BHR-I notice several of the regulars have declined to answer, and even posted that they will not acknowledge him. I see no further advantage to answering an idiot, and will not do so, before I start kicking my dog. However, he never got my BP elevated, just a mild annoyance, like a tick on my backside.
