how do i start taxidermy? i know i can read books and articles. but where do i find them?

    I would suggest actually being an apprentice at your local taxidermist and learning from him. A real life taxidermist will get you with hands on practice... something that a book or video will not allow you to do.

    Also talk to local taxidermists. One of the our local guys does ocassionally take on an apprentice. I would suppose others would too.

    Your best place is to look online for schools. You'll find that there are a number of them, mostly colleges that offer great advice.

    I would strongly advise against just doing it on your own.

    I would say talk to a Taxidermist just like these other guys. But to answer your question try midwayusa.com and Hastings,amazon, and books a million.

    You can find books in many places. And try to talk to people who are taxidermists.

    you're better off to go to school to learn how to do it. They is a good school that is royal gorge, co that you can find online, most of them you can finish in 6th months or so.
