Nice to know where Bonnier's priorities lie. Make the site impossible to work rather than fix the glitches that have been around forever. What idiot is running that company?

Honk, you may need a computer face lift or a computer Geek? It may be on your end because everybody else is working fine and dandy. No disrespect, just my honest opinion Brother.

Mr. Honker, with all due respect, as you know Bonnier owns both O&L and F&S. Their IT guys have even recently responded to your individual complaints and sought to help you with your semi-isolated problems. It may be nice to show some facet of respect back toward them and not treat them like they owe you a personal service for their free to you website...

I just went into "A Sportsmen Life with Bill Heavey" and posted on the Blog who is Afraid of Snakes.
It was Easy Peasey to post my comment. No problems Honker.

Honk, If I were you I would be a little more congenial in dealing with the F&S people.

Everything 100% on my iPad, nary a hitch. Calling people idiots as a general rule doesn't yield much in positive results. Your liberal intolerance is rearing its head again.

I am NOT the isolated case here. Buckshot and others picked up the same crap the same day. Maybe the rest of you are using smart phones or other toys that have to filter this stuff out. My system's ad blocker was suddenly blocked ON THIS SITE ONLY. No other sites I frequent were affected. Therefore it is NOT a problem on this end. Then three days later OL site, which had continued to operate with ads blocked as before, also suddenly manages to jump around the ad blocker and flood me with crap. And again, the other sites operate normally Right now my ad blockers (I have THREE of them running) indicate they are blocking forty-five ads! Forty-five!!!! And still the crap that's getting around the blockers is crippling my computer's performance! If I turned them off, the site would undoubtedly crash on my screen (as it did all the time before I installed the first ad blocker). As I said, this site has a LOT of problems that need addressing. And yet the IT crew decides to devote themselves to finding ways to make it work more poorly ... just for the supposed benefit of the advertisers. Someone in Bonnier needs to readjust their business priorities.

Honk, you say you understand business ? How does F&S pay the light bill without some ad's ? Let me know when you figure that out.

Honk. Buddy. I suspect it's your browser. Maybe a delete and reinstall or move to chrome or better yet go to Firefox and keep it updated. If you don't have one get a virus control software. Clean your cache and delete your cookies. Good security software should do that for you. Someone else use your computer? Never do business (bank accounts etc) with the same browser you surf the web with.

If ads are going to crash your computer, perhaps it is time to consider an upgrade. Ads should not tax your computer so hard that it causes a crash, running 3 ad blockers would be more of a tax on your system than just letting the ads run.

Maybe it only applies to the Chrome Blocker users like you and Buckshott00? F&S wants everybody to view their annoying pop up ads including you and Buckshot.
DUMP CHROME BLOCKER and join the happy crowd who can post easy comments in the Blogs.

Jimbo, anther possibility is the F&S staff could be retaliating against Honker for abusing their Top Answer award feature for his own personal comments instead of other F&S users??

                          Hey All,

Couple of things. The Login button did not work for me in Chrome until I clicked off the AdBlock on the F&S homepage. I've been trying to add answers and make comments to no avail for a while.

Once logged in, with AdBlock back on, I'm not seeing ads or pop ups anymore. However, the "my account" element was also not showing up. Meaning I couldn't post even though I was logged in. The site still seems a bit slow, and still has some issues to work thru, but is much better than it was.

If I would have taken a minute and read your answer I wouldn't have bothered typing one of my own. Well said sir.

Glad everything is working for you again buck. I don't doubt that the site has its malfunctions. I've experienced most all of them myself. My little rant wasn't about the glitches or their fixes, it was slightly off topic. Politeness. Lack of entitlement. It's like complaining about how the neighbor kid mows your lawn for free...
