Crickets are terrific, provided you are not fishing in an artificials only area. Check your local regulations carefully. Crickets can be drifeted as a floater by simply fishing a cricket on a hook and light line using an ultralight spinning rig. Clip on a split shot to explore deeper holes.

make sure you explore your regulations but crickets work well

As posted above crickets are great trout bait. The only negative I can think of is that they are not easy to keep on the hook. Don't forget the trout are heavily pressured in PA so whatever you fish make sure you have light line and a natural drift.

Dave's grasshopper is the key for trout. Get a size 12 or 14. I would even try a black fly.

Crickets and anything that nicely imitates a cricket should do well. I'd go with quality imitations before I'd tie on the real thing.

Mealworms on a size 16 to 24 hook tied to a 6lb fluorocarbon line. Bury the hook into the worm till you see the tip just coming out. Use a small split shot weight. Nothing more deadlier on both lake or stream.

There is an online company out of NY that will ship them for free, mealworms will keep for months in your refrigerator........

I use corn and marshmellows, I've also used worms with air in them. Salmon eggs have given me nothing good.
