Questions about shotgun shell wads. We sometimes hunt my pond at my land and by the end of the season it is covered in wads, makes the pond and surrounding area look nasty as they wash up on the shores and stuff… is there any way to go about this problem??

We used to pick them up off the trap range, wash and re-use them. Be surprised how fast you can learn to tell a 12 from a 16, or a 1 1/8 oz. from a 1 oz.

Until they come up with a biodegradable wading or one that is consumed int he firing, I think about the only thing you can do is pick them up as you can.

ugh yea i picked up almost an entire bag of a used corn sack… it was tedious work but i guess maybe its an invention someone needs to make, a "Wad catcher" haha

I'll bet someone could come up with a better solution to this problem. Picking up empties certainly isn't hard to do, and I have picked wads when I see them, but we won't find them all and there should be a better way.

JMO~ You could use a Pool Net to fish out the wads in your pond.

They make biodegradable wads if you reload.

I understand the reason someone would pick the heavier bullets. However, heavier bullets cause greater recoil and will affect recovery time and may result...

I wouldn’t spend that much on a 10/22 but I might on a bolt gun. For that kind of money I expect some style to go with it, of the Cooper or Annie level....

Would you spend $900 for a Ruger 10/22 to shoot 300yds ? A little over 1" at 100 and a little 0ver 6" at 300yds. Lapua and SK ammo used....
