Today I was going fishing and as I was walking down to the pond I saw what I thought was a domestic cat. It went into the forest a couple feet, then turned and looked at me. It had a domestic cat looking face, black and white. It then turned and ran, but not before I could get a better look at it. It had a light tanish body with big looking legs, like a bobcat and a bobbed tail. What the heck was that thing?

i would say it was some type of hybrid. in my area of southern indiana bobcat/domestic hybrids are not uncommon. especially with the rise of feral housecats.

I may have been a young bobcat. Young ones usually have long, gangly legs.

There is a domestic cat called a MANX(?) they look like a bob-cat but their not.

Could have been a bobcate but without a picture, can not really tell.
