has anyone used a Dillon XL 650 progressive press?i have always used RCBS rock chunker, i have never used any type of Progressive press. im not looking for match loads out of it just needing to reload some .223 and 9mm, the press was given to me from a woman whos husband died its still in the box unopened.

I have a Dillon XL 650 that I've reloaded lots of rifle ammo on, including precision match ammo for a high power over-the-course rifle.

The one change I've made is not to use the Dillon power measure, but instead to use a precision digital powder measure with a powder funnel. I set the powder measure up next to the press, and push the button to get a charge to be measured while I seat the previous bullet, etc. Then I fill the next case, cycle the press, etc. I find I can load 100 rounds in about 30 minutes, from empty cases to loaded rounds.

Of course, using the factory powder measure knocks about half the time off... you can reload a round every 10 seconds or faster, and it's good enough for prairie dog shooting.
