It's been a good week! Earlier this week I got a Remington 788 .222 in prefect condition for FREE off a guy because he just didn't want it anymore! Now, last night I'm at a friend's house looking through his father's fishing stuff(he wants to sell some because the man could open a store!). As I'm looking at his rod collection I see this dusty old fenwick fiberglass fly rod. I tell him that fiberglass is making a comeback in some circles and tell him I thought about buying one that Cabela's just put out. He says #@$! that you can just have that one! He then tells me that his uncle won it in a raffle in the 70's and to his knowledge it's never been fished. I'm pumped to take it on it's first trip to the stream after 40 years of sitting in a garage.

Nice! If your trigger hasn't already been worked by a competent smith, that should be on the top of your list if you want to make your 788 reach its potential.

I have it in .243 and .308, and both are more accurate than any of my model 700s, even one from the Custom Shop. Their actions are very good, although quite heavy. I relegate them to bench work because of their weight, but they bring smiles to my face. A dime is too big to measure the groups.

Maybe you should swing by the quickie-mart and pick up a lottery ticket!

        2 words POWER + BALL.

Great luck runs in 3’s. Don’t blow the last one. Power ball now!

(and remember your friends at F&S when it is tmie to celebrate)
