    call the law enforcement officials in your state don't rely on what people on the internet say.

      I know it's legal in California, if that means anything. Though I wont eat anything that comes out of the river near my house, I have caught a good meal up in Lake Tahoe(also a great way to introduce my nieces to "fishing"
