very simple, today they do a DNA test and they will confirm it is some type of animal, not a myth. and since people are going to make "Bigfoot" jokes, think about this, all over the world we find fossil records of animals that have been extinct for millions of years, yet not one fossil of Bigfoot/yeti has ever been found, much less a living specimen, so please people, give it up!

The misidentification of animal parts is nothing new. Matter of fact it lead to Greek Mythology. Greece was awash in fossilized bones. They believed their fore bearers were giants. They would find these fossils and rebury them, out of respect and not in the proper order. If you have ever seen a Mammoth or Elephant skull. Were the trunk is was misinterpreted as an eye socket. Brought rise to the Cyclopes. Mismatched bones became the Phoenix and so on. No Big Foot though.

Carl - You just reminded me of the Cardiff Giant, discovered buried on a farm in Cardiff, New York in 1869 where workers were digging a well.
It was a petrified cadaver of a man over ten feet tall that later turned out to be a hoax. It was a carved statue planted by a practical joker who set up a tent and charged admission to the public to view the remains of a prehistoric man.
