So, many of you might remember my asking for advice regarding small trucks a while ago? Well, I finally settled on a 1991 Ford Ranger V6 4.0L crew cab. Can anybody tell me what the towing capacity for this truck would be? Thanks!

Uncle Joe say's 5500 LBS Max. Just make sure the weight is distributed evenly.

The back end of those trucks are very light. Be careful on slippery roads and steep boat ramps.

Congratulations on your outfit. I'm jealous in many ways because I had a 91 Ranger many moons ago. I hauled hundreds of bails of hay in the back of that truck over the years, with the most being around 10 or 12 at 90 lbs a piece. That little 4.0 was a work horse, and handled all that weight in stride. The only problems I ever had with it was loosing the throw out bearing in the clutch at 130,000 and lost the solenoid that engages the 4wd. If you know a good mechanic or are mechanically inclined, they are small problems. Hope it serves you well.
