Any one here hunt Ohio public lands? How crowded are they? Is it worth hunting them or will I just be looking for a vacant spot the whole time. I would hunt squirrel, rabbit, pheasant and dove.

Start your search at the ODNR website. They have all the public land you can hunt in Ohio along with maps showing places within the parks that are no hunting zones. Also google earth you can pick to show national parks that also allow hunting for instance Wayne National Forest. Once you find a place you'll like to try you can get free topo maps online with a little effort then pick the deepest most remote part and start your hunt there. I'm going to try my luck this weekend for turkey and hopefully deer this coming season in southern Ohio.
