I have two of the Pine Ridge models and they are junk. One loses zero from driving around in the truck and the other, a 4x12, is basically useless over 8x.
On the other hand a Nikon Prostaff is worth every penny and more.

The Alaskan series was lauded by DEP a few years ago. Plus, I think the Euro series is Made by Meopta. Others are pretty inexpensive and perform accordingly.

        I put a fixed 4X on my .22lr, I think I paid $50 for it 7 or 8 years ago. I haven't had a problem with it, but it's on a .22lr. I couldn't tell you what would happen with a centerfire.
