A couple of months ago I trashed F&S; for publishing a photo of a goofy greenhorn elk hunter with his pack string on its front cover. My sincere apologies. Happened to be back in the book store today browsing through a recent copy of another major outdoor magazine's recent edition and noticed that the cover photo I spoke to was shown in their comments to editor page. It was apparently SA magazine that ran that cover issue. However, I note that the edition of F&S; that I also recently raved about that contained the collection of best stories had a montage illustration of all the magazine's major contributors and it incorporated that horseman image. Presumably the greenhorn horseman was one of the F&S; editors or contributors? I'm a bit confused about why a SA cover photo would be used in a F&S; article.
