Today, went to Cabelas in Rogers Arkansas and talk about overpriced cheap stuff! If this was Eielson AFB Alaska, the Sportsmen's Council would have just about emptied all the trash out of there!

I have noticed Cabelas is always more expensive than Bass Pro. I have gotten some pretty good deals at Bass Pro, problem is shipping, or the gas money to get to the store if you are like me and live a few hours from either store.

I live near both and find the clothing from Cabelas to be better quality. Neither place is cheap but you can get deals by watching the ads.

Never been to a Cabela's "store", but I have made some catalog buys. I have no desire to go to the store.
Bass Pro is 3 hours away. I "enjoy" the store, but only go there to get some "hands on" experience. I find everything WAY overpriced, their gun sales "persons" under informed and some even a little snotty! (snooty?) Only go to BP when I'm in the area, then head across town to Academy to buy. Much cheaper. Academy gun folks way off course!

With all respect Gentlemen. Are we becoming a product of time and inflation. I used to shop at Abercromby & Fitch, before they were a T shirt store. Their prices were dear, but the quality was beyond reproach. I wish those times and prices were back. I think the best is knowing what you buy and buying something that is durable. Very hard in todays on-line stores.

I like the cabelas stores, and if I'm in pinch I'll buy from them. I have a cabelas visa, so the points I earn offset the prices somewhat. I really like the displays and mounts at my local cabelas, worth the drive to just look imo. For serious purchases, I buy online. A quick look at amazon or google shopping and I can get some smoking deals. I also subscribe to camofire and get some smoking deals that way too.

I haunt the Cabela's Bargain Cave and have gotten some incredible deals, especially on clothing, and their custom service is second to none.

CR speaking of Cabela's Bargain Cave, they have a pair of GI Desert Boots for about $250 that you can buy brand new for $49
