Sorry, but I forgot to explain that the Americans decided to have dinner in Ciudad Acuna across the border in Mexico after the gun show, but stopped off at their hotel to store the ammo because they knew there would be a hassle at the Mexican border if they still had ammo in the vehicle.
Then they overlooked that one box. It must have matched the upholstery. Yikes!

What paperwork do you need coming and going?
        Passport, insurance...?
Can an American buy/sell a gun in Canada?
Are all the providence the same?
        How about bringing game back?
I tried to get to Anticosta when it first opened in the early '70's but never did make it.

I think the only handguns that Canadians can own in their procession are water pistols?

Jhjimbo, when I flew in to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for deer hunting. The Canadian agents at airport customs wanted my “Firearms Declaration Form for Canada“. You must send this form in a couple months before you arrival for approval, and then they send it back to you signed OK. These are some questions they asked.

            1. That kind of gun? rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader etc.
            2. What caliber? 3006, 50 cal, 300 mag etc.
            3. What's the gun serial number?
            4. Why are you bringing a gun to Canada?
            5. What town or city are you and your gun staying.
            6. Have you ever been convicted of a crime?

Glad to know that worked. I've never used the behind knees method.
