What is your best hunting story?

  • #2
Last April, my dad and I were hunting turkeys with a good friend in the PA hardwoods. It was about 11 o'clock and we knew that we weren't going to see any birds, but hunted anyways. I was so wiped out (my house is about an hour from where we hunt), and i fell asleep at the base of a tree with the 12 gauge resting on the tree. I have no idea how long i was asleep, but i woke up to a THUNDERING gobble. I looked over and the friend whispered, bird, bird!, and pointed down the hill. I slowly reached over for my shotgun, but couldn't find it! i looked to see if it had fallen, still no sight of it. then i looked over to where my dad and our friend were sitting and the 50 year-old men were giggling like little schoolgirls, the friend holding a gobble call with the shotgun on his tree. Probably one of the most memorable hunting experiences i will ever have. would love to hear others' as well.
