    Never cooked elk before. I'm having pompano that I caught an hour ago---broiled with butter, lemon juice and toasted almonds. Yum!

      The key to elk or deer really is not to over cook it. Its so lean it toughens up quick. Medium rare, salt, pepper, garlic.
