Good question, considering the size of the blade I suggest the Smith's Tri hone.

Work Sharp Sharpening Tool. I haven't used it to sharpen a K-Bar but it works for just about any sharp edge!

you can always use a fine grit bench grinder.if your limited to hand sharpeners there are diamond stones specifically for k bars

I use an E-Z lap diamond sharpener and a Japanese water stone on mine.

I wouldn't use the Work Sharp or a bench grinder for a Ka-Bar as it can ruin the edge. I use an Arkansas stone that I got at Menard's to sharpen mine.

I'd recommend a medium or coarse stone and some patience.

Knives made with D-2 steel require diamond or ceramic sharpeners. Never use a bench sander or bench grinder, as bass bomber pointed out, because they will ruin a factory-sharp edge.
