I bought a Garmin echo 100 the other day for my little Jon boat. It was 80 bucks which seemed like a good price considering it was going on a $400 boat. Any way I plugged it into power to watch the simulator. Now, this is my first fish finder so hang with me. My visual is half of the depth im in. So if im in 10 feet of water I can see a 5 foot diameter. Anyway the simulator scrolls and im not sure if its just showing what it looks like when the boat is moving in the water or if this scroll is the diameter of whats underneath me. Im sure thats as clear as mud so hypothetically if im stationary in 10 foot of water will my visual be still, as in not scrolling, showing me my 5 foot diameter. Or will it be scrolling showing me my 5 foot diameter say one foot per screen width. Like I said, Ive never had one before and have never used one before so I would just like to know for my first time out on the water.
