ok my turkey season opens on monday and i have done some scouting thier are two toms that roost on a small ridge the area around it is not really huntable but there is a field about 150 yards away that i can hunt if i put a my pop-up blind out in the field will the turkeys be able to hear me from thier?

Normally they can hear much farther than 150 yds the exception is windy days. If the birds are using the field a blind would be a good idea. Make sure the birds cannot see a silhouette inside. Set the blind in an area where the birds like to hang out. Gobblers like to strut on high ground and tend to gravitate toward corners or places where they can't be seen from a road. Hide and scout the field early just after flydown with binoculars to get your info without disturbing them. I have also killed lots of birds by hiding near a field and calling the bird to me without a decoy. If a gobbler sees a decoy in a field he will often hang up out of range and try to call the hen to him. Yesterday I called in 2 Kansas Eastern Gobblers and 7 jakes without using any decoys.
