is it true that in april of this year that a texas governor threatened to seceed texas from the union if the goverment took away the 2nd amendment and our guns?

Gov. Perry recently drew a long applause from the audience for telling the story about shooting a coyote with a concealed weapon while jogging with his labrador. A story loses nothing in the re-telling.

Think we could get Perry to run for POTUS?
      "I'd" vote for him.
      Maybe on the "Texican" ballot?

Actually the term was "Texian" back in the day.

bout time somebody stood up to obama and his anti-gun agenda...it was only a matter of time until he went after the guns.

Some guy who claimed to be calling me on behalf of the NRA was asking for my support (money) to fight the United Nations attempt to outlaw our gun ownership. When I told him that a blue helmet makes a nice target there was silence from the other end of the line so I hung up too. I wonder what Ohbummer would consider acceptable losses to attempt to disarm his citizenry. Didn't go so well for King George back when he tried it.

It will never be done. The NRA and the 2nd ammendment will never let it happen.
And if by chance it does, theres a bunch of us rednecks with shotguns to stop them!

I thought it was Texican when still under Mexico, Texian just after independance, and now Texan. I guess I need to re-read Michener's book.

Either way, two of Newt's aides just left his campaign... they are supposedly part of Perry's camp.

I don't think I would want the job of confiscating the guns to disarm Americans, especially in the South,,,

2nd amendment stories like this continue to be a distraction from the real issues outdoors people should be concerned with; de-funding land conservation & management, lack of public access, pollution from large corporations, etc.

no one is taking away anyone's guns or right to bear arms. what, are they really going to amend the constitution? besides, there's something like 80 guns per 100 americans out there.

It won't work in this generation or the next... maybe with enought sheeple in the future.

Sorry, two things in the same post.
                        1. Perry might step in

                        2. We'll keep our guns for at least a very long time.

i heard that perry might run for office. i'd vote for him. everyone knows that a gun grab would set off a civil war with unacceptable outcomes.

I only attach a bipod for sight-in and load development at the range. And that's relatively new for me. Previously I've just used sandbags. The bipod...

I've seen bipods on hunting rifles, but always considered them nonessential and cumbersome ... until I started building AR's.

I use bi-pods of all kinds, and I use them so much of the time.

We have concrete benches at our range and I usually just shoot at 100 yards. May fling a bullet at 200 to check the Nikon Prostaff 5 BDC marks. It's...
