Remember the thing with scopes is that you get what you pay for. If you want to save a few bucks do what I did and get a Fixed 4X. I put a Leupold FXII 4 x 33 on my Tikka T3 270 win and I love it. It waas quite a bit less than a 3-9 x 40 and it has not budged since I got it sighted in.

You can pick up a quality used or new scope on Ebay. I saved 175 bucks on a NIB Leupold VX III 3.5 X 10 for my Kimber.
