Does just a regular old folding saw make a better camp tool than a machete with a saw on it? I was thinking you could split wood and also have a saw handy ready to use.

saws and machetes both are just as good, but each are better in different ways. Whatever you prefer, I'm sure they will both work.

Just drag the wood in with my ATV and chop it up with my 18" "Wild Thing" Gas Chainsaw and kick back!

        GET “R” DONE!

I personally like a saw and a tomahawk. I prefer the tomahawk over an axe because I can take it apart (remove the handle from the head) for better packing.

I would rather have a folding saw, and a good hatchet. I carry a multi-tool with a small saw on it for branches etc.
