Everyone makes a 1911 variant. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The model has proved its self for almost a hundred years.

It really depends on what your hunting or target shooting, etc. I like a .270 because its really versatile. But the .270 couldn't kill smaller game without damaging the meat so there are lots of things to think about before you pick your favorite gun.

Without going into detail or pleading my case here goes...S & W M-19 (or M-66 or M-586 or M-696) 6 inch in .357 (Python also if you can find and afford one),
Remington M-700 in .30-'06, Benelli SBE 12 Ga (you can shoot all shells reliably in it). Best all around gun ever is a .22 semi-auto (Ruger is hard to beat).
