    very common in the southwest, i don't eat them when they have liver spots, a friend swears if you look them well done and was your hands after handling them you'll be okay.

    Rabbits carry a disease called "tularemia" or "rabbit fever"! I'm not sure, but I think the disease is passed by handling the organs during dressing. Always wear gloves when dressing rabbits and discard any that have spots or blotches on the liver.Maybe Bioguy can be more specific.
