does anyone have tips for Squirrel hunting? Last time didnt go so well. Shot one in the ribs with a .177 pellet gun and it loked at me as if I asked it for a sexual favor.

first of all get .22. they are more accurate and wont cause injury to an an animal. also always do head shots. less meat is ruined. now for the tips. bring a pair of binos for glassing and searching for them. in september look for beech nut trees their bushy tail heaven. a tip that many people use is to take a quarter and clack them together it will imitate a squirrels chatter. when you get one, chicken fry it. The 22lr is great on squirrels. Make sure your sights are on. I shot one with my mom's Winchester pump 22lr and I blew it jaw off. It wasn't pretty. I got it, but for a second it was like "Night of the Living Dead Squirrel." Also if you're going to be shooting a lot I recommend using the Remington shells with the brass dusted bullets. They turn your fingers gold, but keep the lead fouling down.
