Along with the trimming (You might try the Jr. size), keep the caller in your mouth until the seal gets relatively soft and conforms to your teeth and palate. This will give you a good guide to trimming. I have found that I have to bend the metal of the caller slightly to give me more room between caller and the roof of my mouth. Some callers are more difficult for me to get a seal with that others---I love Woodhaven calls but they can be a little stiff and take a couple of hours to mold to my mouth, while Knight & Hale callers conform almost immediately. Hunter's Specialty calls fit pretty well, too. Nearly all mouth calls touch my teeth in front, right behind my eye teeth, and I have to trim them for a better seal. It's worth the time and effort. Good hunting.

The above is all good advice but what I did was switch to using box and pot calls. I kill just as many birds as ever. In my area you need a loud call because of the wide open spaces so the box is best for that anyhow. The movement isn't really a problem because I keep my hands low and stop calling when a bird is close.

good answers. trim them but do it very little at a time. If you take to much you can ruin the call. Also, once you have it trimmed to the sized needed to make the seal, it would be a good idea for you to trace it so that you will know exactly how much you may need to trim your next call.
