    Here in Washington, it is 45 lbs. Get a compound bow with the maximum legal letoff.

    Like Beekeeper said it is dependant on state. Alaksa is 50 lbs. some are higher. I just set mine at 65 lbs.

    I know that in Oregon the minimum is 50 pounds for big game, so if you can draw 50 pounds you would be able to hunt all big game in Oregon. I would check to see what the minimum for big game is and see if you can draw it back, that way you will be able to have the option to hunt other big game with the same bow.

    In most states, including mine the limit is 40 pounds but I believe in Louisiana the limit is 30 pounds. Check with a conservationist for your state or look up your conservation site.
