That could be the problem. We are going to lay down some lime this year and see if that helps. We had about a 100x40 yd. strip planted, and the deer barely touched it. It did get them to come out just to mosey around though.

Is the ground where you planted your clover very acidic and if so did you put lime down. If not the clover came up tasting bitter. Deer usually really like clovers.

we planted some clover in an area that received only moderate sunlight. It came up great, but the deer were'nt crazy about it. They would come out in it and just mosey around, never really eating it. It did come up well though.

Seeds are usually a good thing to plant. You can try planting chairs or tires or coffee mugs but i find the yield with these things generally isn't too good
