  • Does Anybody Else...

In all the years I have hunted opening day, I almost always get up before the alarm goes off. Anybody else do that ?

I should have added, normal days I do NOT. Usually hit the snooz a few times.

    I'm up at 6AM daily.

What you're experiencing is the "opening day jitters".
I get the "opening day jitters" myself.
AFTER opening day, I can sleep just fine, but I don't need an alarm to get up. I just decide what time I want to get up. I wake up at that time.
If I oversleep, it's usually because I needed the rest, but I'll be up at 6AM, regardless! LOL!

Hunting or work day, I typically wake up 3-10 minutes before my alarm would go off. Even if I went to bed late, and whether I've slept 7 hours or just 4 or 5.

I always wake up before the alarm goes off. It is the same with opening day. I do usually wake up earlier on opening day though and am anxious to get it started. On opening day of deer season, my dad and all my brothers had a ceremonial steak and eggs breakfast. That was great and always made the day even better.

Opening day I’m usually up before the alarm goes off. I’m pretty much like that until I kill a deer then my nerves will come on down. I’ve been like that every since I started hunting as a kid with my cousins and uncles.
