Don't have all the time in the world, or multiple places to hunt.
Can't really sit back and wait for perfect broadside shots all the time.
Read: I'm not meat shopping with a bullet.

I'll shoot thread the needle, and movers, or even just spine em if that's all I have.
But.............I also let a lot of deer just walk.
If he's big enough to shoot, just gimme a path to a kill.

I always tried to take a doe each year, but two deer has become too much.
      Therefore, I just horn hunt.

I like to eat/cook venison so this past yrs stinker buck has been a downer.
For eats I should zip a doe in early bow.

Have shot two does since '99. Really was hoping I'd given that up.
Its hard enough to shoot bucks anymore.

But I do like venison. Be nice if my kid blasted em, filled the freezer for me.

With all this staying home, the little missus and I have been eating venison like crazy.

Honestly, we haven't eaten this much venison since our 1st year living together. That year, we were basically broke kids playing house, and every bit of income counted. I filled 2 buck tags and a doe tag in the same year. I filled a big freezer full of whitetail and that included giving some of it away to family. I love it, but don't eat it so often that you get sick of it! Mix it up!

Get a 6mm or a 25 cal. Choose the cartridge you like. You don't need to deal with the increased recoil of larger calibers. Deer are not bullet proof and they are not armored or made AR 500 steel. Get a rifle you can afford, and is easy on the recoil, so you can focus on the fundamentals-Enjoy!

In my opinion the 6.5 creedmoor is the best all around gun!
