Got one Saturday morning with my 25-06. Finally have a little time to hunt this year. It worked like Thor’s hammer.

Congrats! Good to hear from you.

What are the details? Rifle, load, distance, point of impact, yards traveled?

My buddy here in Montana shoots a 25-06 and it does very well for him.

Nice deer. Let us know how much damage the bullet did. This fella here had to work some to get that under control.

My weatherby vanguard 25-06. The one my wife bought me. Barnes vortx 100 grain ttx. Shot high hit the spin. The shot you see in the picture was the finishing shot.

Thanks for the details. So what are your thoughts about the Barnes VOR-TX? Looking at their web site, I see the .25-06 and 6.5 CM loads have similar energy downrange but the .25-06 has less drop

I'm using the 143gr Hornady load in my 6.5 CM

The 25-06 100 grain Barnes ttx is a hammer. And it’s accurate. I can routinely shoot sub MoA with it. And as far as I’m concerned the 25-06 outperforms the the 6.5 under 400 yards. And let’s be serious who among is practiced enough to shoot past 400. I can do it is it ethical for me to do no it is not. I practice at 200 and under because that’s what I shoot. If you can find one get one. You won’t regret it.

Honestly, I would not feel handicapped running a smooth bore shotgun for deer out to 125 yards or so. If I had to, it'd be the green/black camo old M500...

Thanks for the heads up about RFC. I just require minute-of-squirrel accuracy and probably wouldn't fit in on that forum.
