Didn't know you could. I'm sure they would drag them up to the house like everything else thought!!

Interesting. Guess you could grind a couple up and add to dog food. Just kidding.
Now that I think about i, if mice and squirrels eat them for the minerals why wouldn't a dog. Heck, everytime you shed hunt take the dog, he just may sniff around and pick one up. If you find one first, introduce him to it, even give it up and let him chew on it. If that doesn't work at least you and the dog had a nice day in the woods.

One time my Shepard had been gone awhile. I walked to the road and looked down it for him. I saw him trotting home with something shiny in his mouth. When he got to me it was a very nice torque wrench. We never did find the tool box, I tried.

I've read about hardcore shed hunters using a dog they a dog can smell them. Just wondered how to go about training the dog.

"T" posted a couple good links on the subject. Can't remember how to find where he posted them but I remember one of them: http://www.northamericanwhitetail.com/huntingtactics/ht_0903sheds/

You can also just have them play with sheds when their pups. When they start maturing and finding some reward them and sometimes they will start looking for them with you.
