Well, what kinda huntin' are you doing? Treestand and ground blind, or spot and stalk, like out in here in the west? I recommend gettin' yourself a hydration pack with a bladder of at least 1 liter. You can sip drinks all day while hunting. Jerky is the perfect choice too, replaces your sodium you lose while hiking around, and provides the protein you need for your muscles. When it's cold out, you need some fat to keep that furnace going in your ribs, so peanut butter sandwiches are great and even a small can of canned meat, spam, treet, ham, vienna sausages.

It depends on the season. Lately I have been making wraps with different flavored Tortilla Shells, meat, chesse, lettuce, etc.. Also have to have an apple in the pack, something salty-Peanuts or chips, bottle of water and maybe a few hard candies-atomic fireballs are good for waking you up when sitting for prolonged periods.

If you are going to be out all day in cold weather it is best to eat unrefined carbs. Your body can digest them more efficiently and will help keep you warm. You also need to have some sort of fat in you food. One of the best ways to get this i believe is through peanut butter. Beef jerky is usualy made from exttremely lean beef and is not a good source of fat. I still usualy take some though because i love meat. But one of the best foods is a peanut butter sandwich on whole grain bread and water. I also take some sort of drink mix to replace electrolytes.

Ok now I'll post it on the right question. We get up and cook at about 4-5 am and have sausages and eggs toast and coffee. I grab the toast and cram all the left overs between the bread and head out. If we sleep to late then I grab some bread and lunch meat and head out.
