Native brush for the blind. Cut it down and build it up.
Same concept for tree stands. Ideally look for 3 trees growing close together to build the stand in. Cut down some 2-3 inch diameter trees to use for building the ladder and frame. Nail cross braces between two of the trees as a ladder up to the height you are going for. Nail 3 more around the perimeter of the tree at the height you want the bottom platform and again at a good rest height when you are sitting. I use playwood for the floor and wrap it in burlap, so those and the nails are the only things I buy and bring in.
Hopefully I was able to explain this OK. And remember to be sure this is legal where you are. Not all public grounds are OK with cutting down live trees.

There are several ways to make an inexpensive tree stand yourself. A cheap quick stand I have used is:
Find a tree that has a good fork in it about 15 feet or so off the ground. Approximate the distance between the two forks and get two pieces of 2x6 lumber that will span the distance between the forks. Nail a 2x6 to each side of the fork so they can serve as joist boards for your tree stand. Make sure they are as level on top as you can get them. Then screw 2x4 or 2x6 planks across those two joist boards so you have something to sit on. These boards can be about 2 feet in lenght. Buy some screw-in climber steps or nail 18 inch long 2x4s to the tree for steps. This works pretty well and is cheap, especially if you can find some used lumber. I usually sit on it until I see something coming and then stand up with a bow. However, it is pretty easy to stand in for hours too but leaning against the big branches that form the fork. These are pretty easy to pop up in three or four of your favorite places and they will last for many years.

It is called a pair of clippers, an axe, and some brush. It is easy to make a stick frame and then put on the brish like shingles. I would advise against backlighting so a frame with brush all the way around is best. Make one like the leopard hunters do. Works like magic!

Dead brush or fallen tree limbs. Do not cut any on federal lands for it is illegal. i like camo burlap to put inside the brush to cover up as much movement as possible. As for a tree stand, if you make one make sure it is stury enough before you set it up too high. You can get cheap tree stands for under $100.

I like to use the natural surrounding to build up a blind. I look for a pine or cedar to back my self up to and then dig it down a little bit (clearing all the sticks and leaves and other noise makers) and then surround my spot with down branches and logs. I try to get it up high enough to use some of the stuff as a gun rest.
