Not sure what kind of hogs FirstBubba is hunting but in SW Texas the buzzards will come from miles to the smell of hog.

So will bobcats, mountain lions, and coyotes for that matter.

Baby piglets could be killed on impact by a large bird of prey.
An eagle could pick one up in flight just like a fish in water.

alligators would probably enjoy pork if they had the chance.

Any predator from coyote size on up will eat piglets or small pigs.

FistBubba---I've always found it beneficial to slice the skin of pigs if you're going to leave them for the buzzards---they can't get through that tough hide to eat the goodies

Dang shame the hogs are mostly impervious to the diseases that ravage domesticated pigs and livestock. They are just carriers.

Coyotes and mountain lions, and wolves, where their territory intersects. Wild dogs, also.

This November past my taxidermist said he witnessed a big tom kill an entire herd a dozen strong. He had pics of the aftermath, too.

Yes. Coyotes love the little striped piglets!

    That said.
Pig hunters killed two pigs of about 70/80 pounds each in an open pasture about a mile from the house. Those pigs laid there until they rotted away. The buzzards NEVER touched them! ...and buzzards will eat road kill skunks!
I find it difficult to eat something a buzzard won't! LOL!
